The mission of 7 Cords Foundation is to inspire young people in the areas of science and technology, to be leaders and innovators. We believe engaging youth in programs that support the skills needed in three core areas: Robotics, Coding and Drones, will provide them with science, technology and life skills that will ultimately enhance their self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
7 Cords Foundation STEM Program is a holistic, comprehensive program incorporating education and hands on experience to assist students in their growth and development in STEM. In partnership with various groups, we are passionately committed to students, parents, and supporters to provide access and development in STEM education opportunities. We believe access to STEM programming in our youth population, particularly those in underserved communities, will encourage young people to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in STEM.
Our use of 7 Cords, represented by the stars in our logo, refers to what we believe are important life principles. They are the North Star for our Foundation and the work we do in our community and in the lives of young people. It is also our desire that these 7 Cords will support and encourage each person along their life journey.
We believe acting in the interests of others and their advancement is at the core of what we should exemplify.
We believe in adherence to moral and ethical principles, the soundness of moral character, and honesty.
We act and make decisions impartially, fairly and on merit, using the best information available, and without bias or discrimination.
We are accountable to ourselves, our partners and the community for our decision and actions.
Individuals should act and make decisions in an open and transparent manner.
Individuals should strive to be righteous, honest and fair in all dealings.
We should endeavor to exhibit the best leadership qualities and behaviors at all times, and treat people with respect.
We identify and partner with groups whose strategies have a proven success shown to increase student interest in STEM: hands-on learning, working as a team on real-life problems, and exposure to careers and adult mentors.
We support the engagement of middle and high school students in research, robotics, coding, and drones programs that help them become science and technology leaders, as well as well-rounded contributors to society.
7 Cords Foundation participants develop skills in teamwork, problem solving, and communication, preparing them for success in school and the workforce, no matter what path they take.
Our Foundation’s leadership includes a Board of directors who commit to approximately 10 hours per month, participating in board meetings, providing guidance and managerial support and fulfilling other duties. Our board supports our new directors with an onboarding process, opportunities for networking, mentorship and professional development and opportunity to give back to the community.
